[DXBase] ARRL DXCC Country Entity Assignment?

Folks,
I've been reviewing some of the enhancement requests. One that we saw asks
for DXbase to somehow do something with the ARRL Entity numbers. The
request suggests that there is a unique number assigned by the ARRL for each
country.
Well, I have seen this on some old paper DXCC country lists and many
countries did not have any number assigned. I have just finished searching
the ARRL web and looked at just about every on line list I can find. Bottom
line, is I can't find this anywhere? Does it even exist anymore? I know
LoTW has this field, but beyond this, it does not seem to exist.
Who knows the scoop on this?
