I'm pretty sure GB2 is correct for England or plain G as you put it.
GD is common for Isle of Man.
Could this have been a special callsign?
If it was, enter the call, and then select the proper GB prefix in the prefix column.
Hit enter, you will be asked if you wish to "Map GB2IOM to Isle of Man"?
Say yes.
But are you sure it was Isle of Man and not just a coincidence with the suffix?
