[DXBase] Very weird import anomaly

Great tip, Clark. The error file is on the PC in the shack, just the
adif and Cabrillo are on my laptop with me here in the office. I'll
check later, the prefix just may be the issue--but Carsten DL6LAU had no
problem with his import. I exported out of N1MM Logger. This is not
the only time I've been totally confounded by Antarctica!

George,
=A0=A0=A0=A0 I did the same thing as you, exported my contest log as =
ADIF, then
imported it into DXBase 2002.=A0 When I worked DP1POL in the contest,
WriteLog kept trying to log it as Germany.=A0 So, I changed the "prefix"
in WriteLog to CE9 and it logged OK.
=A0=A0=A0=A0 When I first did the "test" import, I got an ERROR on =
DP1POL.=A0 So,
I modified the ADIF file by changing the prefix from CE9 to KC4.=A0 I
tried the test import again and, same as before, there was the ERROR.=A0
You might check the directory where your ADIF log was and see if DXBase
didn't write a file called "errors.txt" and that should contain the
DP1POL entry plus any others that DXBase did not recognize.
=A0=A0=A0=A0 Here is what my "errors.txt" file looked like:
ERROR:=A0 Prefix?=A0=A0 DP1POL=A0=A0 20031026=A0=A0 2330=A0=A0 =
14156.00=A0=A0 20m=A0=A0=A0 USB=A0=A0
59=A0=A0 59=A0=A0=20
=A0=A0=A0=A0 What I had to do was enter the DP1POL QSO into DXBase =
manually
using the information from the "errors.txt" file.=A0 Then, I changed the
prefix to KC4 and, when prompted by DXBase, mapped that call to the KC4
prefix.
=A0=A0=A0=A0 Hope this helps you.=A0 My guess is that you may have =
looked at the
QSO's that were successfully imported and just missed the one marked as
an error on the import screen.

After CQWW I exported my modest 810-record Cabrillo log and also the
adif file.=A0 Then imported the adif into DXbase 2004.=A0 The import =
showed
810 records imported, no errors.=A0 Went to bed.
For some odd reason I took a look this morning at the Cabrillo to check
the zone number for DP1POL in Antarctica.=A0 Saw it was 38.
Coincidentally, I then went into DXbase to add this QSO to the pending
label file.=A0 No record of DP1POL.=A0 It's right there in the Cabrillo.
It's right there in the adif.=A0 But even though it was one of the 810
records imported "successfully", it was not in the DXbase log!=A0 The
QSO's just before and just after it are right there, however.
I suppose I can do another import and see whether 809 records are dupes
and maybe DP1POL will make it then.=A0 But I'm puzzled...suppose I =
didn't
just happen to look for this specific record, but found that I had
imported only 809 records instead of the 810 I exported to adif.=A0 Then
imagine I had a competitive contest station and had to look through
maybe 1,300 records to find the one that disappeared during the import!
Jack, any thoughts on how this could occur?=A0 Any other users had this
experience?=A0 Now I'm not sure I haven't had it myself before this...
