[DXBase] Wish list items

Minor - remember the column widths in the Summary window.
Minor - remember the position of the bar at the bottom of the VHF
Packet/Internet Packet/CW Line Out/CW Char Out window so that those tabs
aren't covered up when the program reopens. A further refinement would be
to not have a tab for VHF Packet in that window if packet isn't being used.
Likewise, if CW isn't being used then the two CW transmission tab shouldn't
be there.
I'm imagine this is a misunderstanding somewhere on my part, but I still
can't get CW to work on a serial port with XP. I have it working fine with
Writelog, where I share a serial port between rig control and CW. I use a
RIGblaster Pro to do that the easy way, with no special cables. But no such
success with DXbase. It's not a big deal, as I have an external memory
keyer and can use the keyer in the MARK-V. (For that matter, I could use my
old Heathkit CW keyboard, which I might if I were a real touch typist!) I
don't understand why Writelog CW is pretty painless but I don't have that
result with DXbase. I have tried the DXbase CW port program but that didn't
work for me. BTW, I am using a native serial port not a USB/serial
converter.
I use a different log column sort with the DXbase Field Order program. It
would be very nice if it would remember my settings so I didn't have to so a
screen print and recreate as a starting point the next time I changed the
column order.
As has been requested by others, I would like to see a telnet cluster
reconnect feature similar to what VE7CC has included in his AR-Cluster
"AR-User" program. I sometimes use that program to connect to the cluster
so that I can reconfigure my cluster filter settings and then connect to
that program from DXbase. Lee's program is available at http://ve7cc.net/.
Having said all of this, I will say that I very much like DXbase, the
features, the support, and the reflector. I always recommend it to friends
who are interested in computer logging and have used it since DOS version 3,
I think, which was probably at least ten years ago. I have tried the
program that is probably the main competitor to DXbase, but I still prefer
DXbase.
