Dave you can assign the "Find" function to the ctrl-F by the following
process: 
Go to Tools-->Shortcuts-->highlighting Edit-Find-->Create Shortcut-->typing
"ctrl+f" in the box-->OK.

Wouldn't this be a problem if you have multiple instances and you want to
find them all. "Find next" might just jump between two entries when there
are more than two.
I would just like the damn "Find" window to stay where I want it instead of
popping up on top of the very thing I'm trying to find every time.
