Really? The Import help file states: "The US State field will be
populated if...the state can be determined based upon the section
mapping rules in Import." In the section mapping rules ("US State
Logic") it states: "If the contest type being imported is one that
usually contains a US State postal abbreviation OR SECTION CODE (my
emphasis caps), IMPORT will attempt to use the data if it passes
internal validations." The contest in this case was ARRL SS, which
certainly contains section codes (ADIF record example below). There was
no error message or warning after Import. I did not do anything special
before creating the ADIF and importing based on these comments. So what
am I not understanding?

Is there a State field in your ADIF file that is populated?
If not there will not be any state info transferred to DXBase.
If the ARRL sections in your ADIF file are all states then
you could change the label for these entries to State instead
of ARRL section and then DXBase would see them as the state.
