Steve
this seems to be one of the most common questions on the reflector.
I've had all sorts of problems with sending cw.
First thing you must realize is that most USB port devices as explained to
me by a Support person at Belkin, are virtual com ports.
What that mean exactly I don't know, but in practice it means, some things
will work and others won't. It all comes down to how a program
'handles/communicates' with a com port.
But...try this. Go to system devices and check/jot down the I/O address for
that comport. Some USB com port devices have a 'dos emulation' mode.
Frequently that will tell you the particular I/O address and irq used.
Then follow the registry instructions in the help file about cw interfaces.
Check to see in the Driver X part of the registry that the com ports entries
match the i/o addresses in the properties of the system devices for com
ports.
Good luck and let me know if you had success.

trouble in the garden.
