[DXBase] Very slow processing of internet packet spots

I'm have a problem with internet packet spots. I do not connect to VHF 
packet so I'm unable to determine if it would have the same problem.
Basically what has developed over a period of time is that the packet spots 
kept getting slower and slower getting posted in the internet window. When 
a spot comes in the hour glass symbol appears indicating the spot is being 
processed. When I first started using DXbase the hour glass would be 
visible for a split second. Now that it is almost a year of use the packet 
spot come in, the hour glass symbol is displayed for as long as 40 seconds 
before the spot is displayed in the packet window. It appears that some 
file or buffer is being overloaded. Is there some file that must be emptied 
periodically?
I would appreciate any insight to the problem.
