[DXBase] County Entries

Fred,
The issue came about because about this time last year, the hot topic of the
day was automatic population of county information from various address CDs
like Buckmaster, QRZ, etc.... Seemed like the world would come to an end if
this capability wasn't added. So we did. But in doing so, it became
apparent that there are errors on some of the CDs in the county information
that the address CD supplies. These errors played havoc with the integrity
of DXbase for county statistics. So, the solution implemented was to modify
the county field so that it could be validated. This required the change in
how the county field was managed and required the full listing. If there
was a guarantee that the address CDs would provide accurate data, this
wouldn't be needed. But until and unless they do, we have to protect the
integrity of the DXbase county data.
Regards,
Courtney
