[Dx-qsl] Courtesy wait period for QSL?

Thanks for your reply. I understand there are many different situations and
my intention is not to generalize but just to see what different QSLers do
in different situations, with the possible exception of expeditions as
there's usually plenty of information available as to where they are in the
QSLing process.
Here's my personal opinion:
For individual Ops in rare/semi-rare countries: at least 6 months before
emailing. But I don't see waiting a full year if a guy has an email address
listed on QRZ.com. My own QSL stats show zero email replies to emails sent
to individual Ops after 6 months anyway.
For direct mailed QSLs to Managers: this one is where I see some gray area,
and the main reason for my query. For instance I have one out for close to 4
months to a great manager who in the past has turned around my requests in
just a few weeks. I'm thinking I'll email him shortly to see if he's waiting
on the printers or if my letter got lost, I don't see waiting another 2
months in this case. In general though I'd say 6 months IMO.
For PayPal'ed requests to Managers for individual Ops (Not dxpeditions):
Here's another one where I'm curious what the group thinks. I'll say 3 or 4
months in this case IMO. I suppose I can assume from the PayPal 'receipt' my
Green Stamps got to where they were going and 2 months is a more than
adequate turnaround time for card printers these days.

Depends on the size of the DX station you want a QSL from. A major
expedition or just a single operator from a rare country. Also, depends on
where the QSL resides. Some countries are hard to get a letter through from
the USA due to mail theft in them. I have seen about a week for a letter
from the USA to arrive. A reply can take a while due to commitments of the
operator or their manger outside of radio and, like I said before, the
volume of requests for the station worked. I don't think there is a set
amount of time. You have to be the judge given the circumstances.

Looking for opinions from the group, if this has been covered in some List
FAQ (I couldn't find one) I apologize in advance for the bandwidth:
Just wondering how long the gentlemanly wait period would be before emailing
an op or manager regarding a direct mailed QSL?
Thanks & 73,
