[Dx-qsl] weird eQSL anomaly

I don't take part in any eQSL awards or whatever, but I upload as a 
courtesy for those that do.
I downloaded from eQSL a little while ago.

EXCEPT!!!! I received 10 (ten) qsls with 'no QSO matching callsign, 
band, and mode.
This is absolutely weird. I get one occasionally, where I may have 
miscopied a contest call
or ... The other station miscopied my call.
I do have at least 3 well known DXers/contesters with calls just a dit a 
way.
But not 10...from 1998 to 2002. Not 10 from the same station-callsign.
Especially as I have exactly ZERO qsos in my log with this callsign.
But..mystery solved.
I checked the dates and times and sure enough...I did make a qso that 
matched all those dates and times.
But not with the callsign he was asking a qsl for.
I bet he merged some logs with a club call or a old callsign....
Not sure what do do.
I don't think it would be unethical to write him and suggest he may have 
merged his logs incorrectly?
Would it?
