A team led by IK0FVC, Francesco, will activate 1A0KM from the
Sovereign Military Order of Malta, a rare and unusual DXCC entity,
between January 27th and January 30th. He tells The Daily DX that
joining him will be G4IRN, I0JBL, I0ZY, I8NHJ, IK0DWN, IK0FTA, IK0IXI,
IK0PRG, IW0BYL, IZ0NRG and possibly some other guest operators.
The 1A0KM team is planning to start set-up Thursday morning local time
to begin activity with the first station early Thursday morning.
Plans are to be QRV on 3.5 through 28 MHz, and possibly 160 meters.
They will have three stations, an Elecraft K3, an Icom IC-7400 and an
Icom IC-7000. They will also be using three amplifiers, an SPE 1K-FA,
SPE 2K-FA and a Heathkit SB-200. For antennas, they will be using a
SteppIR "BIG IR" on 10-40 meters, a Cushcraft R6000, dipoles 40 and 80
meters, and a vertical dipole for 30 meters.
Activity is expected on SSB, CW, RTTY and PSK31. They will be QRV
until about 1500Z on Sunday. QSL via the IK0FTA Callbook address. All
QSOs will be posted on LOTW. All of the 1A0KM team members recommend
