[Dx-qsl] Z21BB- and LOTW

I can see, when you manage many station, that can be a pill. Otherwise, I
am sitting here, with some contacts, 2 or 3 or more years old, and notice I
do not have Timbucktoo confirmed on a band or mode. Looking at those
contacts, I see I worked the guy 18 months ago, and his logbook entry has a
yellow background. That when I do a click, and see his last upload was 8
weeks ago, and does cover (as far as I can tell) that period within which I
worked him. I also see I sent a buro card at the time (or maybe even
direct), and there is no indication of receipt of a card from him. That is
when looking at the "last upload" becomes a useful tool. I jot of a quick
query (just like one today for Indonesia on 40 meters). I got the response
back an hour later, and now know I simply didnt show up in the log. I dump
that one, and now Spotcollector can start looking for me another one, as a
new one, and not show up as a white background when I hear him again on that
same band and mode.
I agree , it is not only a bother if the contact was two hours ago, but
idiotic. Not everyone does the same as I do - upload all new contacts every
day. Programs such as the DXLabs DXKeeper make that so easy, I say why not?
I am still waiting on some 60 percent of the contacts to be uploaded from
the contest 2 weeks ago - but 40 percent of them managed it in a couple days
time. I actually dont need a one of those, but if I did, I would still be
waiting, and wouldnt bother to query, for several weeks from now, when I
next work up a DXCC or WAS submission for 2011. Also, this should save the
amateur community big bucks, in the long run: not only saving the money
from the old method of QSLING, but saving money from sending out another
card, only to find out, months from now, that its not in the log anyway. I
hate sending out duplicate cards, to find that out, or possibly to simply
just once again, receive nothing back at all- after all, that appears to be
the way some hams handle incoming cards.
