[Dx-qsl] Alerts via email to Blackberry

You can run SpotCollector standalone, but without DXKeeper (the DXLab
logging component) SpotCollector would not know what awards you are
pursuing, or what you've already got worked, confirmed, and verified. Thus
SpotCollector would be unable to flag needed spots.
You could install DXKeeper, load it with your QSOs from DXBase, and specify
your DXing objectives; this would enable SpotCollector to accurately
identify needed spots, but you'd have to keep DXKeeper up-to-date with new
QSOs, confirmations, and verifications. But keeping two different logging
applications in sync would be burdensome...

Interesting, but wondering if it's possible to install only that module and
not the rest of the suite. All I need is a way to generate e-mail alerts
(for email accounts requiring authentication) for these user-definable
criteria: DXpeditions coming up on a needed band, unworked zones for 5B-WAZ
and probably a couple more. I'm reasonably-happy with DX Base as my primary
logger (I'm also trying out CommCat with a paid alert system that I just
can't seem to tame properly). I don't want to change loggers or learn
another full package, I just need to add on something to do the tasks
mentioned.

DXLab with the SpotSpy add-in will alert you to the presence of DX spots
needed for DXCC or WAZ awards via email or SMS message. You can specify
which awards you're pursuing (e.g. 5BDXCC vs. Challenge, Mixed WAZ vs RTTY
WAZ); needed spots are identified based on these award objectives, your
logged QSOs, and their confirmation and verification status.
DXLab also provides a built-in web server that lets you see needed DX spots
directly on your smartphone..
DXLab is free, and available via www.dxlabsuite.com

I thought I should report back on this.
After some time evaluating products, I've determined that Ham Radio Deluxe
(HRD) does this. That is my plan.
On a related note... I feel that - if you're not currently using HRD - you
will eventually.

Hi Mike,
If you find this please let me know. AR User used to work fine, until
pretty-well every e-mail server in the world required authentication--Lee,
VE7CC, regrettably won't incorporate that into his code, thus no more
notifications.

Does anyone use a software or service that you can setup to send email
alerts to your Blackberry when those "hard to find" DX stations are
on-the-air?
