Oh there were a lot of no-sows this weekend. In fact, in 18 to 20 
trips to Hamvention, I've never seen the Flea Market so empty.
Some observations and clues to low attendance:
No lines for the shuttles to what's left of Salem Mall
Many hotels had rooms available
Traffic was light the whole time, even after the show closed
Every other car on the road wasn't sporting call plates nor and 
resembled a porcupine
No "Goat Cam"
Highest ticket number on the prize-display TV was 173xx or 174xx. 
I've been there when tickets in the 34xxx range were being pulled on Sunday.
NO lines at any booths inside except Elecraft, HRO and Icom, and even 
those lines were short
A lot of vendors saying traffic was way off this year (though better 
for others)
Restaurant servers saying Saturday night wasn't all that heavy (in 
popular places at Wyse Road)
