So when I put in my application for DXCC (which I havent yet) do I count the two Germany contacts as two countries (one each for the two contacts .. one under each of the rules) or just the one "country" contact that I made with the current rules and "write off" the old rule Germany as not a country for the application? I also have the same type of situation with the "old" and the "new" Russia contacts .... some that were "just Russia" under the old Box 88 Moscow rules, and now that it has split up into different "countries" I also have contacts with these new "countries"... So, it sounds like, from your explanation, I have two countries .. Russia, and the new country that used to be part of Russia.
I notice also that Yugoslavia prefixes are no longer called Yugoslavia on the new DXCC list, but the country has been "renamed" ... same prefix .. just different country name.
