My TO5FJ card came today.
KG4WV already came back, too. Thanks!
Also got a CN2R card for 160m.
On a side note, does anyone here know of some groups or reflectors that
deal with old test equipment? I have an old HP8568A spec and that
belly'd up on me this week. I have a "suspect in custody", but if I can
find some HP gurus, I'd sure appreciate it.
One other thing on this DXCC Desk topic... I do agree the processing
time has gotten ridiculous. My field checked application last year took
about 2.5 months to get through, and while I was glad to get it done so
quick (it was *huge*), I thought the whole idea of field checking was
supposed to speed things?
I will admit that I don't have the slightest insight into how their
current process works and what to do to correct it short of complaining
a lot.... and I am pretty good at that. ;-)
Is it just a case of not having anyone doing this on a full time basis?
It's kind of interesting though to think what kind of a clip you'd have
to keep up to not get backlogged. Assuming 4 working weeks or 8 hour
days you'd have to maintain a clip of just under 20 minutes per
application. And I'm sure NONE of them have problems, incorrect entries,
questionable cards, etc. ;-)
So what's their real bottleneck - does anyone know? Is there a chance of
farming out the bulk of clerical work and just maintaining an oversight
role?
Just trying to stir up a little more constructive debate than my usual
process of stirring the pot. ;-)

Glen, NA5Z
