Hi Reflectees,
Do you ever wonder what will become of your beloved QSL collection when,
inevitably I'm afraid, you one day become a SK?
All the pleasure, time, effort and frustration involved, possibly over much
of a lifetime, in amassing those QSO's and resultant precious, often
irreplacible, QSLs.
Well, I certainly do. Chances are they'll mean nothing to those left behind
and just end up in the recycle bin, at best!
I came across a Website the other day dedicated to the preservation of such
QSL collections. They're known as CPRV "Committee to Preserve Radio
Verifications". Bequethed QSLs are preserved at the Library of American
Broadcasting in Maryland MD. Altho their main focus is BCB QSLs they also
preserve Amateur as well. Checkout their website at
http://www181.pair.com/otsw/cprv1.html
(BTW, I have no association with this Committee, just passing on the info).
Maybe you know of other depositories for SK's QSL collections, (where it's
assumed no one in the family is likely to want to preserve them?).
Worth a debate?
73 Dave
