Ernie,
Yes, it is a valid call sign here in Japan.
The two letter suffix were assigned only to in early days with JAx
prefix.
The two letter suffix call signs are never assinged to us any more.
(Except some special event stations.)
Therefore, JA7MJ is one of the Old Timers.
Yutaka, de JQ2GYU (also JF1LZQ, WS2Y, T88YU)

Subject: [Dx-qsl] JA7MJ
Can anyone on this reflector (perhaps one of our Japanese DX friends)
tell me if JA7MJ is a valid Japanese call.
I 'think' I worked him, for the first time, in the recent CQWW RTTY
contest, and wanted to send him a QSL card, but can find no trace of the
call in either QRZ or Buckmaster, or on any on the various DX callsign
search sites.
Any help would be appreciated, if only for my own peace of mind.
Thanks.
Ernie
