It is very close to 1ドル. The actual postage to the United States is
CDN0ドル.93. Then you have 6% GST that brings it up to CDN0ドル.99. Today
the exchange rate is US1ドル.00 = CDN1ドル.0703. Figure you will get maybe
CDN1ドル.04 at a bank in exchange and you wind up with a difference of
CDN0ドル.05.
Everytime I visit my sister and her family in Mississauga, I stop by the
local CanadaPost to make sure I have a few stamps on hand in case I need
to send an SASE to Canada. It is quite disturbing to have seen the cost
of postage to the United States go from CDN0ドル.52 in the late 1990's to
what it is now. In contrast, we have gone from US0ドル.46 to US0ドル.69 in
the same period AND the weight allowance went from 1/2 ounce to 1 ounce.
