I worked that Q at 0224 UTC on April 17th (sent the card in the mail
later that day). Don't recall signal strength, but 40 is by far my
worst HF band...so if he was audible enough to me to enable a Q, he
was doing OK <grin>. Log says 599 each-way but then again I'm not
generally a stickler for accurate signal reports when DXing in big pileups :-).
I saw pics of their three element SteppIR in a 75mph wind and ice
storm. They were on display at Fluid Motion's booth in Dayton this
year...pretty spectacular, to be honest. Actually, now that they have
an 80m kit for their BigIR vertical, I think I'm going to put one up
this fall. Hopefully this will solve 40m for me, and give me a backup
to my C31XR and 2/2/1 Force 12 yagi combination.
Cheers,
Peter,
