If you ever have a chance to send international mail from Japan, be sure
to add the *Japanese* name of the country/region at the end of the
address. Japan Post has its own reference name (obviously in
Japanese) so ask the post office worker if you can't find one.
Alphabetized Japanese name is acceptable. For example, if you send
something to Germany, adding "DOITSU" (Japanese name for Germany) is
usually sufficient. I've seen this many times at major post offices
where international tourists get assistance from Japan Post workers.
