In the UK, the recommendation is to use Manilla C5 envelopes.
Over here it is up to the Amateur concerned to provide them and stamp
them [a standard stamp will carry 60 grams or 15 cards ish]
Even with that few they sometimes get mangled.
Some double stamp and that then allows 40/45 cards and they stand quite
a high chance of 'mangulation' so its not just a US thing.
Mind you i also get some weird envelope sizes which people expect large
cards to go in without bending <smiles>, but the classic has to be the
hardbacked A4 [letter size] photograph envelopes which one chap sent -
it only took 2 cards to put them overweight, and I dont know what they
charge in the US for understamped post but here it is 80p plus double
the 'missing' postage.
