Interesting notes.
Almost everywhere nowadays one US-dollar is not enough for covering return
postage. In Sweden the cost for one letter up to 20g is 10 SEK (Swedish
kronor) and one US-dollar is now eqv. to abt 7,20SEK.
This 10SEK-postage is valid for everywhere outside our own border. Mail to
Scandinavia is just as much as to Australia. And we only have
AirMail-Prioritare, No B-Economy (unless special agreement with our
post-office)
Regarding mail from our national QSL-bureau, we have 2 options.
A/ 2-kilo prepaid padded jiffy-bag.
B/ 10-kilo prepaid parcel.
This covers almost 95% of all our shipment. Others are regular envelopes
for weights below 2 kilos.
Last year we shipped some 700-kilos of cards out of SM
As Nenad mentions, the drop in outgoing cards can also be seen here in Sweden.
There is almost 15% less cards in 2003 that have been shipped out from our
bureau.
Just as a notice.
Let's keep our Bureau-system working and give newcomers in ham-community a
decent way of exchanging those sought-after QSL-cards in stead of all
these "ONLY DIRECT" and Dollar-IRC-syndroms of today.
