I am curious what the most common "standard" letter weight is in Metric. In
Canada, a standard letter is 30 grams. I remember last Fall when CanadaPost
announced on their website the postage rate increase to the United States
from CA$.65 to CA.80ドル. As the Postal Service does here in the United
States, CanadaPost pointed out what a great value it was to send a 30g
letter to the United States even with the price increase. In addition, it
said that it cost Canadian's less to send a 30g letter to the United States
than it did for a person to send the same letter from the United States. I
was going to take issue with that statement until I realized that 1 ounce is
equal to 28.349 grams so they were correct. For an additional 1.651 grams
we pay an additional $.25 for a total of $.85 (CA1ドル.12 at today's rate).

Robert, N2JTX
