Hello Everybody,
I really don't get qrmers or So called Dxers ..last night, this YA was
calling and clearly said "5 up" and most of the pileup , I'd say about 95 %
kept calling him on his frecuency... Why call somebody if you can't hear
them?? I put my radio on spilt and called when he said number "3" (three...I
spell it out ..maybe some around here don't know the numbers) and voila on
the first call...
Not that I'm the big gun Dxer or have a tremendous station ...I kinda like
to listen to the operator ... do you guys remember the "Penguinator" ? He
gave specific instrutions EVERYWHERE on his rcv frcy, all you had to do to
have a qso with him was follow instructions and you would get the qso fast.
There were hords of people calling him on the wrong frcy and I guess they're
still calling...
On the other hand why should somebody QRM this YA or whatever stn??..I'm I
stupid or is this a national pastime somewhere? I'm I missing something?
Should I try to on the next DXP? Is it really fun? Is there any kind of
strategy to accomplish this? We keep on reading about this on every mayor DX
mag I see, but I guess Qrmers never read or are not really interested in
being true Dxer's
I just hate the frcy police or qrmers ..it takes the fun out of being a
ham!
