Hi all......I am kinda curious as to a couple of things. I have never been or
sponsored a DXpedition, but I truely appreciate the efforts of those who do.
I work the ops with my little station, send my card with a return envelope,
try to remember to put USA on my return address, and always send a coupls of
bux extra, maybe more depending. I have had a very good return rate, and only
occaisionally have had to resubmit. My question is, WHY would a group go to
all the expense and time to go to some forsaken spot and work a few thousand
guys, but then not use a QSL manager, or have you mail your cards to a place
where mail pilferage is KNOWN to be a real problem. I would think that the
group would want to get all the cards and contributions they could to help
defray their own QSL costs. I'm sorry, but I cannot see the logic in NOT
using a manager that resides in a low mail pilferage area. The recent QSL
thing with the K1B operation was confusing to me because I was on the road
and missed the beggining of the whole QSL thing. I sent mine where the webb
site said to send it. I just feel that, from what I read here, that QSL's
were being "bought" at the price of a "contribution". I was corrected and
accept that. Anyone remember Romeo???? Anyone wanna buy a couple of Romeo
cards??? Anyway, I was just curious, when there are so many really fine QSL
managers who do the best they can to get you a card, and you can mail with
the confidence that you have a pretty good chance of him getting it, a
manager's service would not be used.Thanks.........Al/W8FAX
