Guys...
After reading this string I feel the need to offer my
$.02.
I in no way object to the way that the VP6DI cards are
being handled.
I simply wish that this process was fully vetted prior
to the beginning of the DXpedition. In that way each
of us could have decided how quickly we each wanted
our cards, or not....
I would also suggest that if this is a trend then the
next step would be to accept donations in advance for
"early bird" skeds...
Seriously, If I am willing to pony up say, 50ドル as a
donation to a major DXpedition, why not solicit
donations for a few priority or early bird type sked
days where those making a certain level donation would
be worked off some sort of special list.
I'm not suggesting that we start to "tax" working a
new one. What I am suggesting here is that given the
costs that are incurred by major DXpeditions and the
need to underwrite them financially, why not move to
the next logical step of using donations to secure the
opportunity to work the DX on a limited priority
basis.
I know many will decry this as against the spirit of
our hobby. I believe there will come a time when this
sort of practice will occur. Sooner rather than later
I believe.
Just my opinion...
