Agreed Mike, that is an excellent article. Waldemar, I may ask permission
to reprint that in something I'm working on -- we'll talk direct! <g>
And that also gets to the heart of the disagreement here with W2A/W2AA (and
others, not to be picking just on them), to wit:
If you don't want to acknowledge a QSL card, direct, via bureau, or both,
that's your business. But at least have the intestinal fortitude to say so
up front. To do so long after the fact is a disgrace, and it indicates a
lack of respect, at the very least, for your fellow amateurs as a whole.
To then add insult to injury, by claiming that you can download a .jpg file
in lieu of a QSL card, says more about the character of the QSL manager
and/or station owners/operators than I can properly put into words here.
Suffice to say that at a minimum, this is the sign of a petty Little Pistol,
not a Big Gun operator or operators.
And I think that actions like this one hurt the e-QSL "cause" more than it
helps, because it forces implied acceptance of eQSL's for the wrong reasons.
About the only rung lower than this one is the station that accepts IRC's or
green stamps or postage for a QSL card (as opposed to receiving bureau
cards, as in the specific case here) and then declines to issue a card in
lieu of an eQSL (which has cured me of working certain G and M 1x1 calls
ever again, however, I digress). Which is another story.
