Gary I was inactive for 14 years and got active again in 1999 and I sent to
ARRL copies of the paperwork for all my DXCC submissions which had all been
hand entered at the time and they graciously sent my records as I had lost
all my logs and records in a flooded basement. I had lost my tower and
antennas in a windstorm back then and kind of gave up on ham radio during
that 14 years but I was still receiving envelopes from the bureau which
included cards from countries that I hadn't submitted. When I got
reactivated back in 1999 I had to send those cards to ARRL since they were
over 10 years old they could not be checked locally and Bill Moore said I
could even send any current cards along with the old ones which I did. They
then had to transpose all the old handwritten records from my earlier
submissions on to their computer and when I got the sheets back they were
all computer generated showing that I had 326 countries worked with 308
counting toward the Honor Roll. As soon as I get the outstanding cards I
will be up to 318 countries that count but a total of 336 countries worked.
The deleted cards count in your country total but not towards the Honor
Roll. Hope this helps it was my experience. GL Norm W8KNH
