I have a post about my DX-LB on the AMfone site:
http://amfone.net/Amforum/index.php?topic=46635.msg338663#msg338663
Yesterday was asking about adding more radials to the main 40m section to
make it more like the "Plus"
version that DX engineering came up with where it says it will now cover
160-10m.
I asked them about a kit to convert my plain LB to the plus and they
responded:
"Actually we sell both versions, the DX-LB
https://www.dxengineering.com/parts/alf-dx-lb and the DX-LBPlus
https://www.dxengineering.com/parts/alf-dx-lbplus . Unfortunately we do not
sell any modification kits for that antenna. You could probably homebrew
some traps to make it work on the other bands, but that would take a bit of
experimenting on your part to get it tuned up for the portions of the bands
you would like it to be resonant on. "
Wondering if it pays to put in extra radials that would cover the WARC
bands, or would the Plus version cover them as they describe?
Also if the shorter elements are placed above the main 40m radials, will
they act as directors, kind of like how a Yagi beam works?
Are there fan dipole type kits around, or do you mostly have to fabricate
your own support system?
