If you cut for 10, it will not be useable on 12. I have used several cb antennas with the internal tuner and no pruning. External tuner will allow 15 and 17.

Just yesterday i removed a quite good 11 meter ground plane antenna from
a deceased citizen's residence.  I'd like to convert it for 10M use. Of
course there was no documentation and no mfgr info on it anyplace as it
had been standing on the pipe support for some years and there was no
one of knowledge at the residence when i removed it.
I'm sure others have converted them, shouldn't be to hard to do i
wouldn't think.  If one shortens the vertical portion of the antenna, is
it necessary to cut the 3 radials down as well.  I'd think so but do not
want to cut things off if it's not a necessity.  The bolts holding the
radials sheered off when i tried to loosen them and it was a bit
difficult to get the antenna sections apart but i was able to do so with
minimal damage.  Now for some info or directions as to where to look for
the information to properly dimension this thing then i can get it up
and in use.
Thanks
Larry
