I have used open wire "Ladder Line" for years in many
different applications. I always use a good tuner which
has a balanced output that will cover a wide range of
Z and j.
I installed one for a ham that only wanted to work two
bands, without a tuner, so I cut the ladder line to fit one
frequency, and used a small double-pole double-through
switch to add in another 10 feet or so line for the second
frequency. You can figure the lengths, but you will need to
determine the velocity of ladder line.
You can use two parallel pieces of identical coax instead
of ladder line. The Handbook will tell you the velocity of
most coax. A full wave will replicate the feed point of a
balanced antenna, such as a 1/2 wave dipole.
