Real HAMs drill. (it is said)
In the olden days the procedure was to drop the dome lamp (ceiling interior light)
hanging from it's wires, find a spot under the roof where the bottom of the mount would
fit and not interfere with the dome light or hit a roof brace and punch up with a fine
prick punch, then drill down from above, catching the drippings with news paper or paper
towel, whatever. Put the bare cable in the hole, aimed at the left front (usually)
window post and wiggle down. Mount the antenna base part and trim the RG-58 to length and
put the PL-259 connector on. Restore the dome lamp.
With todays cars your guess is as good as mine.
