[Antennas] Chimney mounts

I'm thinking of placing a 20 foot mast on a chimney mount on top of the house. If I add 10 feet of rigid
PVC at the top it would give about 50 feet above ground in elevation. The plan is to install an Alpha Delta DX-CC fan dipole at the apex and droop the ends down to form an Inverted Vee arrangement.
Two questions:
1. What's the best chimney mount? Radio Shack ratings are not too good.
2. What will be the effect of my steel roofing 30 feet below on operation of the antenna?
