[Antennas] Roof mounts

David,
My experience mirrors Barry's. Mine was a Tet Tribander, with the mount
on the roof of the garage.
It held up very well for over 5 years, being pulled down only because I
moved.
I had visiting hams say that it wasn't high enough to do any good. Each
was invited into the shack, I would turn on the equipment here in
Virginia, and run a quick call on 20 or 15 mtrs. I ALWAYS got a reply
back from Europe.
It held up with winds hitting peaks of 65 MPH. Bolt it on right, along
the lines of Barry's description. I sealed all bolts with clear
silicone sealer. NEVER leaked!

I took 6 6" bolts ran them thru the tripod feet thru the roof where i bolted pieces of 2x4's across the support beams. I used roofing tar to seal the area for waterproofing. No I wouldn't have trusted it thru a hurricane but i'd have taken down the beam before riding out a hurricane.

>> Anyone know of a good source for a roof tripod mount. Needs to hold a tribander. All I've found are the cheaper TV type, ... none that I would put a tribander and rotor on.
