You sound like me...but I have a 10x30 ft storage place full of
HELIAX....used to pay only 25ドル/month on it...but that site got closed about
2 yrs ago...and I had to move..now paying 100ドル a month!! Time to sell it or
put it on towers :)
(1/2in 7/8in and some 1 5/8....recently added 50ft of 3in Heliax...if the TV
engineer had been a little drunk, I may have gotten the whole 800ft
run...well had to pay off the tower crew too!! They chopped it up in 10ft
sections :(

Thanks to all who answered on this. I learned that the stuff
can be useful if paralleled - close enough to 50 ohms - and
the price (zero) can't be beat. So on a dry day I will stretch
the stuff out in a parking lot and with a box knife, split the
plastic jacket and extract the 8 coaxes. About time I did
something with this stuff after paying storage for about
7 years!
Now as to doubling coax to make ersatz twinax, I don't
know quite what to do about that, as far as picking a
coax to use. -Hue Miller
