One suggestion: fiberglass telescoping fishing poles.
I inserted a wire through the hollow interior, with a pigtail at the lower
end. You just extend it (it has friction locking) and you have a 20-25 feet
high vertical, thin, flexible and easily attached to anything that stands.

Allen Bond at Max-Gain Systems has a good push-up system. (8' to 43' -or- 
6' to 32')
It may not be as light as you're wanting but I've seen them and they are 
really nice.
