Hi,
A few adders to the below info.
First try the penetrating lub. Using twisting motion slowly and if it starts
to turn, add more lub and try back and forth gently. If turned dry and fast
will
gall and really hard to get apart. A slight tapping on the outside of the tube
may also help but don't indent the tube. (Be gentle like Charmin) Note: The
anti-seize products are NOT weatherproof and with time will dry and leave a
solid residue.
Second is to also heat the outside tube with a heat gun or hair dryer but
not too hot.
This may help with the first.
Third is use the heat above but also run cold water thru the tubes if
possible. If at a
blind hole go gently and will go in and out the same hole.
Additional note: If screws or rivets are used be sure to drill slightly
oversize of the
hole to remove burrs or indents in the tube. Also can take a small
diameter drift punch
and insert thru from the other side (if a thru hole)and tap the indent
straight.
These usually did the trick. Good luck and happy rebuilding/refurbishing.
