[Antennas] Sputnik

that would kinda make sence to me too,, a pair of phased inverted vee's 
90 deg so it's circular or somewhat.
Anyone else have any idea?
or how about the pattern on a 1.5 wave dipl;ole inverted vee 90 deg 
phased etc..
Reason i'm asking this is,, in october it's the 50th anniversary of Sputnik.
We are already celebrating with one of our high altitude balloon flights 
( a video flight)
but we were thinking of making a Sputnik also to send aloft,, but the 
antennas were like weirtd.
