The remote switch, as per Phil Salas, will work, you would have to install the box at the bottom of your antenna coil, breaking the antenna at that point. The common of the relay switch would be connected to the antenna base, the NC would be connected to the main part of the coil and the NO would be connected to a shorting clip; to tune to the higher band. Forming a insulated break, at the bottom of your bug catcher coil would be a strength problem. This solution will only give you two band choices. There is another way to get two bands, without a control, read that as automatic bandswitching.
More interestingly, I suggest you research bug catchers closely. There should be nothing above the capacity disk......... nothing! You would have gotten the same results without the 102 whip! The disk goes at the very top. Regards.
