Glen Martin Engineering makes a number of small four-sided roof mounts
that are very strong and easy to install--and come with mounting "feet"
for thru-bolts. They also sell mast clamps for the mounts, and aluminum
masts. The whole setup makes an excellent mount for verticals; I've run
into dozens of hams who use them (also see reviews on eham). See

for more info. Click on "roof & quad mounts".
