What about the DCTL (loop) ? It does look
like a loop to me, but with the resonating capacitance distributed
mostly over the whole circumference. I think i have seen a claim
for low noise also. Only thing is, no DCTL article i have seen uses anything
but plain wire (in the twinlead), no heavy gauge wire or tubing.
I was wondering recently if there's any advantage or disadvantage
to the distance separating the loops. If area wins, maybe volume 
wins too, so separating the the loops is more better?
