Hi christoph,
When I am unsure if a reception problem is caused by my radio or my
antenna, I try the following technique. This technique works well with coax
but you will need to adapt it to your style of feed line.
1. disconnect the feed line from your radio.
2. Connect the center conductor of the feed line to the center of the
antenna jack on your radio.
3. Be sure that there is no connection between the outer conductor of your
feed line and the outer conductor of your antenna jack.
4. Turn on your radio and test your reception. About 9 times out of 10 it is
an issue with the antenna system. By following the steps above you convert
the antenna system to a long wire. This usually has better reception than a
problem antenna system.
I hope this helps!
God bless,
