Greetings Gang...
When using a shunt matching coil (coil parallel with 50 ohm coax feedpoint and
ground) at the base of a mobile vertical, what does it suggest when more turns are
required in the matching coil to get a lower SWR when at resonance? ie -
electrically short or electrically long antenna - lower/higher Z at input - antenna
appears more capacitive/inductive ???
More capacitance up top fixes it, so does this mean an electrically short, inductive
antenna?
Any input is appreciated. Thanks...
