Multi-operator stations and DXpeditions insert specially designed, high
quality filters in the feedline of every radio. These filters are so sharp
that they effectively confine each radio to its chosen band of operation and
isolate it from out-of-band signals. Some filters even allow two radios to
operate in the same band.
The disadvantage is that the filter must be removed and replaced with
another when the operator changes band. Usually this is not a problem
during a contest or expedition, as radios are assigned to particular bands
or frequencies.
I used a set of Dunestar filters on a DXpedition and you can find more
information on Dunestar via the internet. Other manufacturers also make
these filters.

Subject: [Antennas] Antenna switching
After "popping" the lamp in the front end of
my FT-102 I have been looking at ways to have
both my Hybrid radios on and limit the danger to
blowing out the front ends.
I'm not multi multi contesting, but it is nice to
have one rig tuned up and ready to go on one band
and the other tuned ready on another.
(By the way....So how is it the big multi multi op's
don't risk the other receivers front ends?)
