[Antennas] help..mfj 269 b antenna analyzer

All ok for measure swr..
but...but
if i have big issues if i wish to measure resonant frequency of a trap 
I have a sure trap on 7 mhz...I try in more ays to measure it ..but don't succeded..
so..
i try with few wires linked to connector antenna of the mfj and put them near the trap..or more..enveloping the trap but the result was a resonant lc parallel ciruit ( Z >>>> ) on different frequency and depending from the relative position of the wire cable and the trap...
so..unrelaible and wrong reading ..!!
I wrote also to MFJ ..but noone replies..!
can you help myself ?
