William,
Thanks for the response, I like to build long wires, I have 6 acres to play
with, I run 75 meters AM USA only, I don't use traps and the winds get up to
100 mph.
Thanks
Brad

Brad,
My answer on the type antennas to use is dependant on the bands you operate,
your amateur radio goals (DX, rag chewing, nets, etc.), the available real
estate for antennas and your radio monetary budget. I use monoband antennas
for each band that I operate. Monoband antennas are more efficient i.e.
wider operating bandwidth and no power loss with traps. You can build
antennas on the cheap considering what you pay for commercial designed and
built antennas. Besides it is fun to build/test antennas. You also gain
knowledge on antenna design theory when you "home brew" antennas. I would
recommend the following antennas:
 80 M - 1/4 wavelength elevated vertical with four
 1/4 wavelength insulated radials.
 40 M - Same as above.
20 M - Three or four element beam or double extended
 Zepp.
15 M - Three or four element beam or double extended
 Zepp.
10 M - Three or four element beam or double extended
 Zepp.
I will mail you the information on the Zepp and the elevated 1/4 vertical
antennas. If you use a gain antenna
and a power amplifier (+/- 600 - 800 watts) you will be able to successfully
work DX.
Best 73,
Bill
