Bob,
You're going to be one very busy dude when you try bonding all of the panels
together. Also, bonding the panels will require removal of the paint at
each junction, and then re-coating the areas with suitable paint. If the
new panels are powder-coated, you will have a very difficult time removing
the coating to make the required bonding. The end result would hardly be
worth the effort...and it may void the manufacturer's warranty.
All things considered, I would install the antennas as far from the metal
roof as you can go. The large metallic mass, grounded or not, will distort
all of your antenna patterns.
Oh, one more thought... Unless all of the panels are welded together, any
mechanical joints, like sheet-metal screws, will likely corrode and create
noise in your receiver...
