A basic Inverted L fed against a ground plane/radial system should be a 1/4wl...easy to match to 50ohm coax.. If you want to run it on other bands, use a tuner for the coax feed. Don't bother with ladder line. 1/4wl on 160m is approx 138ft (+/-)...if you have 54 vertical, then you need 74 ft horiz..Usually I go 1/3 vertical and 2/3 length horiz..but your lengths may vary ;) ...see Cebik's web site on 160m antennas: http://www.cebik.com/wire/160new.html Chris WB5ITT > -----Original Message----- > From: antennas-bounces at mailman.qth.net > [mailto:antennas-bounces at mailman.qth.net] On Behalf Of W0DXZ at aol.com > Sent: Monday, November 14, 2005 7:32 PM > To: antennas at mailman.qth.net > Subject: [Antennas] 160 inv L length? >> With a 54 foot vertical section, about how long should the > horizontal section be, fed with ladder line? > Bob W0DXZ \
